Join us for our monthly business networking luncheon on Thursday, February 11th at noon. Bring canned goods or other non-perishable items for the Fall Creek Township food pantry!
Ok folks, I've had a few e-mails with suggestions for get togethers. I've got a couple of votes for just meeting at Bella Veda form drinks. A couple of suggestions for Bowling...(it is winter after all), someone mentioned Dave and Busters in Castlet…
Wow, been a long time for all of us. A belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Years to all! Now that work has settled down a bit it's time to get back into being social. I'm open to ideas but I'm thinking about possibly a movie night or bowling. Anyo…
Sorry I didn't have a chance to call back yesterday, Daniel. For what we were talking about, send me your info at teakins@techpg.com. I'll try to call later today or tomorrow. Crazy week - getting the kid back to college and working on a proposal deadline. Thanks. - Terri
Hi Daniel! Next time you come to visit your Aunt, please stop by the front desk and let me know you are here. Will you be attending the networking luch on Thurs.? If so, reintroduce yourself to me. Good to hear from you. Theresa
Daniel, this is from my Sister in Law: What we do is "pay to publish"(self publishing) so I doubt if he's interested in what we do....the risk is 90% on the author. He's better off going with a NYC based publisher if they are actually interested. We are seeing major cut backs at all traditional publishing houses....they aren't acquiring new manucripts like they used to and cutting staff by 1/3 in all the traditional houses......traditional publishing is looking very bleak these days! Retail was down double digits over the holiday so the big houses are really hurting.
He might check with New Centuray Publishing in town but really that's the only "indy based" group. You have Wiley and Pearson but they are based in NYC. Wiley is non fiction....mostly reference and non-fiction. Pearson is strickly education (in Indy).
I think a lot of people think it's super easy to get a publishing deal....it's nearly impossible these days. I would like to know what kind of contact he has in NYC because you typically need an agent to even be seen and most agents won't touch you without a previously published work.
You might try Author House. They are a company that produce small runs of books. Sometimes bigger book stores even pick them up. They help you with everything.
Hi Dan, I love your favorite saying. Very appropriate for an IT guy! I am not planning to go to Bella Vita tonight but I am hoping the whole singles group can get together in January some time.
